Promoting the Arts:  Single-Day Summer Camps

We are pleased to offer several Single-Day Summer Camps for  2018! Pre-registration is strongly encouraged . For more information, call the Arts Center -- 252-527-2517.

Monday, July 30 -- Painting for Young Artists with Simone & Kim
10am-noon; cost $20/student
3-4 year olds; class limit 12, no less than 6
Instructor:  Simone Johnson, Education and Fine Arts/Textiles Major ECU – Final Semester, CCA Summer Intern
These young artists will work from tabletop easels and create their own masterpieces take home masterpieces.

9am-noon; cost $20/student
5-7 year olds; class limit 12, no less than 6
Instructor:  Kim Garland, painter and multimedia smARTkinston artist

Tuesday, July 31 -- Macrame with Maggie
9am-noon; $20/student
9-12 year olds; class limit 6; no less than 4
Artist Maggie Harper will teach you the art of macramé.  You choose the project – either a key chain or a bracelet.

Wednesday, August 1 -- Intro to Comics Making with Max
9am-noon; $20/student
9-12 year olds; class limit 12; no less than 6
Join smARTkinston painter and become your own comic book artist!  Learn the fundamentals of drawing while you illustrate and create your own comic book.

Thursday, August 2 -- Kite Making with Simone
10am-2pm; $20/student
7-12 year olds; class limit 15; no less than 7
Design & construct your own kite using a variety of materials provided in this session.  Brin a bag lunch and we’ll provide bottled water.

Friday, August 3 -- Sculpturing with Brandon
9am-noon; $20/student
10-12 year olds; class limit 10; no less than 5
smARTkinston sculptor Brandon McCullen will teach sculptural assemblage while you produce a take home sculpture project
