Dear Artist,

The annual  ’Que the Arts is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Rain date is Thursday, May 2, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the same location.)  This event is once again the official opening of the Kinston/Lenoir County’s signature annual event known as the BBQ Festival on the Neuse.   The venue is the home on 302 W. Atlantic Avenue, hosted by Kristin & Johnathan Hughes.

If you are painting in the Plein Air Paint Out (May 1-4, 2019), or have secured a booth as an individual or a group of artists a at ArtsMarket (May 3-4, 2019), you will receive a free ticket to this 'Que the Arts, otherwise tickets to attend are $35 and are available at the Arts Center.  There is no charge to enter your work in the event; however, we hope all of you submitting work will attend and will promote it to others in the community and region.  Remember, the more people there, the greater the potential for sales!  We have found that events where the artists attend and who are event participants have a greater potential of sales than those where artists are absent.

All 2-D artwork submitted for this exhibit and sale must be framed or matted/shrink wrapped or in plastic sleeves.  3-D work including textiles, sculpture, glass, metals and pottery must be suitable for display.  We are providing you with three (3) labels at the link below for identification of your work.  Please attach these labels to the back of your work prior to the time of submission.  The Arts Council staff will be responsible for transporting your work to and from the event venue and displaying it for sale.  All work must be for sale.  The Arts Council will retain a 35% commission on any work sold, so please price your work accordingly!  Payment for sold pieces will be within 30 days of the sale.

Art needs to arrive at the Arts Center on Tuesday, April 23, or Wednesday, April 24.

We hope to see your work at this wonderful event.  If you need overnight lodging there are rooms secured at the Mother Earth Motor Lodge,
252-520-2000.  Call for reservations using the code Arts Center Group.  This is a terrific way that you can have exposure in the community, sell your work and support the Arts Council!
