Kinston Area Railroad Modelers Association
"K.A.R.M.A." is currently working on erecting a permanent model railroad display in the basement of the Arts Center. Come visit them on Saturdays from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Model trains will run the first and fourth Saturday of each month from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
Kinston Area Railroad Modelers Assoc (K.A.R.M.A.) is seeking new members. The club meets every Tuesday evening from 6:30pm-8:30pm and on Saturday's from 10am-2pm at the Arts Center, 400 N. Queen Street, Kinston, Contact the Arts Center at 527-2517 for more information.
Umbrella Organizations
Umbrella organizations are special interest 501C-3 or volunteer arts organizations that meet at The Arts Center or other properties & work under the umbrella of the Arts Council. Part of the mission statement of the Arts Council is..."offers administrative services and educational opportunities in support of artists, art agencies and audiences". Some of the support services offered include meeting space during regular business hours or special arrangements, management of funds,organization capacity support and advertising, etc. A plan for how the Arts Council might serve a specific organization is developed based on the unique needs of the organization. If you have an organization that you would like to be considered as an umbrella group of the Arts Council, please contact Sandy at 527-2517 or slandis@kinstoncca.com.

The Lenoir County Artist League
The Lenoir County Artist League meets at the Arts Center on the first Tuesday of the month, September through May. There is a small annual membership fee to join the league, which includes all artists working in two-dimensional and three-dimensional media in all genres. The LCAL has an annual juried exhibition at the Arts Center on display from November-January. Their goal as a group is to promote educational programming and a critique environment for the membership.
