Pre-registration for workshops and classes is strongly encouraged. Please call the Arts Center to secure a place in any of the following. There are limits on class and workshop sizes in most cases, so please register early! Registration fees for classes and workshops will not be prorated. All classes and workshops have a minimum enrollment of 5 participants.

Kids & Family Classes and Workshops
Fantastical World of Dr. Seuss
Thursday, May 16, 4 - 5pm
Ages 7 - 10
Cost: $10/Child
Instructor: Sarah Sloop
Sarah will start this lesson with a Dr. Seuss story and engage all children in the world of Dr. Seuss. After the story, Sarah will lead the students in a corresponding art activity. Projects will be completed in this workshop and will go home that day!

Metal Art Fabrication Workshop
Thursday evenings for 4 weeks
Thursday, May 16 - June 6, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
$90 members/$100 non-members
(includes all materials)
Instructor: Rose Clark
Broaden your artistic talents by learning to weld! Basic welding techniques using mild sheet steel to fabricate metal sculpture will be offered. No experience necessary! Participants need to bring protective gear and wear appropriate clothing. This workshop is limited to 5 participants.

Learn the art of watercolor painting from
retired LCC art professor, Cynthia Hyder.
You will learn watercolor techniques using traditional materials.

Furniture Painting

Molly B’s home decorating & design studio is now offering
student training for the small business entrepreneur, as well as her standard FUN furniture painting! Training in the art of furniture painting as well as marketing skills. Come for business skills AND for the pleasure of painting! All ages.

Students will learn about materials, color mixing, shape, and perspective. Please wear old clothes, apron, or smock as paint can stain. Beginners, only, please.

the length of time you want the class to run (1 day, 2 days, or 1 day per week for several weeks)

Music Lessons Available
We are pleased to offer numerous music lessons at The Arts Center. There are several teachers whose lessons vary in instrument, days/times offered. Please contact The Arts Center at 252-527-2517, leave your contact information and which teacher you are interested in having contact you. The teacher will personally call or email you to arrange your lessons.
TAPS
Registration for TAPS members are being accepted now. This is the after school jazz mentorship community ensemble that meets at the Arts Center. Availability for middle and high school students. No charge. Contact Sandy Landis for more information at 527-2517.
